Astrotech Corp. of Austin, Texas, said Feb. 12 that its Astrotech Space Operation subsidiary has been awarded a NASA task order to provide payload processing for the Orbiting Carbon Observatory (OCO)-2 satellite slated to launch July 2014 from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., aboard a United Launch Alliance Delta 2 rocket.
Astrotech said OCO-2 is the first mission awarded by NASA under a $16 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract that runs through 2017.
